Why I plan travel
I have been traveling my whole life and I didn't know that this was not everyone else's normal until much later on in life. When I was 6 or 7 years old, my grandparents moved to Hawaii. I ended up visiting them every summer until I was in my early teens. The first time I went, my mom escorted me but the times after that, I traveled alone. Those were the days when my parents could drop me off at the gate and hand me off to a flight attendant and my grandparents were there to greet me when the plane landed. I had a great time on the plane and made friends with the crew and even got to go in the cockpit to meet the pilots. It set the foundation for my love of travel and Hawaii.

A save-the-day story
I had a client a few years ago who was on a trip with her two sons. They were visiting her dad and touring the Grand Canyon. My client's dad unfortunately passed away while they were on this trip and my client had to stay longer to take care of all the affairs. We had to book flights home for her boys as unaccompanied minors and cancel her flight since it was unknown when she would be able to come home. I also made arrangements to cancel the rest of the hotels on their trip and work with her on any refunds. There were a few hotels that didn't care about the reason for the cancellation and we were not able to get them refunded. She learned the hard way that travel insurance is necessary for these reasons.
