My Why

Why I plan travel

I came to this work through a camera. I spent years as a wedding and travel photographer, and what that trained me to do was notice — the light in a room, the character of a place, the details that make a property feel like somewhere rather than anywhere. When I started staying at luxury properties to shoot, I realized I had a different kind of access than most travelers. Not just to the places themselves, but to what made them work — or not. The transition felt inevitable. Clients would ask where I stayed, what I'd recommend, how I'd plan it. What I was really doing was finding the right fit — properties with a genuine sense of place, trips that actually felt like the person taking them. That part never gets old.

Approach

Planning philosophy

Every trip I plan starts with the person, not the destination. Before I think about properties or routing, I want to understand how you actually travel — what slows you down, what energizes you, what you've done before that didn't quite land. I work with two models depending on what a client needs: hotel-only bookings with access to my preferred partnership network — Virtuoso, Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Belmond Bellini Club, Marriott STARS, and more — or full bespoke itinerary planning from flights to on-the-ground experiences. What both have in common is the same level of attention to detail and the same goal: that by the time you leave, every logistical decision has already been made, and all you have to do is show up and be present. This work is built on long-term relationships. I want to know your travel style well enough that each trip feels more considered than the last.

Difference

The Exquisite difference

A real person, not a search engine — someone who's responsive, knows your preferences, and genuinely has your best interest in mind. My preferred partnerships at Virtuoso, Four Seasons, Belmond, and Marriott properties mean rates and amenities comparable to or better than booking direct, but with one advocate who can be trusted to get it done. What clients are really getting is someone in their corner, working on their behalf to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

In the moment

A save-the-day story

A client had booked a five-star luxury property on a prepaid, non-refundable rate. Days before the trip, his wife injured her back and the trip had to be cancelled — no question of just toughing it out. I went to bat with the hotel directly, advocating on their behalf for an exception most travelers wouldn't have known to ask for, let alone get. It wasn't about the commission. It was about making sure my clients were taken care of when something genuinely went wrong — because that's the job when you're really someone's advocate, not just their booking agent.

Insider tip

What I tell every traveler

Most people don't know this: even for a short trip, if you're booking a five-star property, reach out to a travel advisor before you book direct or through a site. Through my preferred partnerships — Virtuoso, Four Seasons, Belmond Bellini Club, Marriott STARS — you often get the exact same rate, but with a room upgrade, daily breakfast or hotel credit, early check-in, and a welcome amenity layered on top. None of that shows up when you book it yourself. It costs nothing extra to ask. Most travelers just don't know to.
